The past few years has seen an increase in fashion that utilizes technical fabrics in an elevated manner. With Herschel Supply’s Summer 2016 Studio Collection, one can indulge in the two-tiered offering that applies water-resistant materials to a seasonally updated selection of clean and concise silhouettes.
For Summer, the objective was to create a catalogue for the Studio Collection that would showcase the modernistic and design-driven product that would position it within the Tier 2 accounts, in a sleek and contemporary manner. It needed to serve simultaneously as a catalogue, a workbook for our distributors and as a tool that our sales team could use to educate Herschel Supply’s potential distributors.
Typography and design were influenced by the technical approaches used in the Studio Collection’s development. A contrast of smooth tiles and rough concrete were used as a backdrop to showcase each silhouette. This reflected the tactile contrast of the soft mesh and industrial durability of the Polycoat and Tarpaulin. By using a minimal color palette in the photos and typography, the individual products could act as the focal points on each spread.
